First Time Playing Live:) - At CNE Casino

First time I played at a Casino, it was pretty fun! I played $5/$10 limit..Ended up $57.50:) I hate limit, and every hand is like 6 way to the flop lol. Wish I hit one set.. The cool thing is, the casino is only 20min bike ride from my place so I can go there any time I want. There were so many different kind of poker games..including Three Card Poker which my friends liked.

Anybody else play live?

  2. Hey Matt, I bought in for $200. The minimum buy in was $100. I was up over $300, then dropped down to to $180 then won a hand and left with $257. I missed a flush draw for a $250 pot which sucked.

How were the electronic tables? I heard about them but I don't really like the idea. Wouldn't it be a lot similar to playing an online tournament at Full Tilt? And what was the buy-in and how did you do? And do you like playing Omaha?

  3. Buy-in was $20 (15+5) with rebuys within the first hour I think, and yes it's very much like playing online except you can see the people you're playing. Everything is done electronically so as you can imagine there was not much talking.

I didn't expect to last long since everyone seemed to be rebuying after they got knocked out and you really don't get enough chips to make any moves. What I hated most was the structure. You get like 2000 chips but the blinds start at 50/100! And they go up I believe every 10 minutes.

I lasted a measly 50 minutes. I had a good amount of chips early especially after knocking out someone with quads in level 1 but the blinds rose up too fast, ate me up, and left me short stacked. I ended up going all-in with a set and remember the river gave the other guy a straight and I was on my way.

Omaha is not a game I'm too familiar with but I tested it out on micro stakes and it seems very swingy. But if I do, I'll only do so with a deeper stack and it would have to be full ring. I wouldn't necessarily choose to play it but if I had known the blind structure before hand I would have just saved my 20 bucks :D.
